Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I live far away from some of you (I miss you!) and it can be difficult to stay in touch at times. This blog is my attempt to keep you up-to-date with my life here in Oklahoma.

HALLOWEEN
Halloween was a lot of fun! We all came in costume... Some more attractive than others (I fit into the second category)... But I think we all pulled it off very well. Malin had done a great job decorating the house and John had done a great job on the outside. The food was great. Jacque must have been cooking all day. She even made finger cookies (with knuckles and nails) and beautifully decorated cup cakes. And Carson made caramel apples.

I dressed the way I did in the late 80's/ early 90's. Scary... I borrowed Carson's old shoes (I had kind of the same kind of shoes when I was younger) and his sweatshirt from Munich. I also wore a turtleneck underneath the sweatshirt (I loved turtlenecks back in the day) and a pair of stonewashed jeans. They were so ugly. They were even tucked into my socks. I found them at Salvation Army yesterday morning. The only stonewashed pair they had. They made my bottom half look gigantic. And my waist was not in its usual place... Nobody said it was going to look pretty...Max was a little troll and Jonathan was a skelleton. Malin will post some of Jonathan!

You ALL looked great Marie! When I saw the group shot on Jacque's blog I had to ask exactly what your costume was, but when she explained that if I'd seen the bottom of your stonewashed jeans tucked into the socks I would have understood right away (and I would have). I said were you supposed to be dressing like you were in college because it just reminded me of something from a long time ago, so I was partly right. : ) If you'd had a wig with "big hair" it would have been immediately obvious!! I still have some of my 80's clothes, but I would never be able to get a size 5/6 on my size 12 body now!! : )

Max is the cutest little troll I have ever seen! He looks like he should have been in a movie or something! I can't wait to see Jonathan in his costume. : ) The food and decorations sounded great and I'm glad everyone had fun. I would have loved to have joined you.

I wish you could have joined us too! About my costume... I dressed like that in the 80's... I looked much more normal when I was in college! =) Thank you for complimenting my little troll! He loved his costume!

I should find an 80's picture of myself (in my 20's then) and post it -- straight-legged jeans with or without zippers at the ankles, stirrup pants and leggings and big sweaters and long button-down shirts with geometric or bold prints were big, worn with either high-heeled pumps or ankle boots. Also, perms and "big hair" with giant hoop earrings or big chunky colorful earrings were very popular. Kind of tacky, but not so much as the 70's were! : ) You recreated the look and pulled it off very well! : )
