TURTLE TURTLE
I saved a turtle today. I was driving out in the country (on Rock Creek Road not far away from home) when I saw a turtle on the road. It was quite big (I think). About 8 inches long (about 24 cm). It looked so cute! I have never seen one up-close before. When he saw me he stuck his head back into his shell. I picked him up and put him on the grass (by the side of the road). Not facing the road. I had two cars behind me but fortunately they waited patiently. I feel bad now, though. I should have put him on the other side of the road (the direction he was going). Now he may have to do it all over again. Poor thing. What if something happens to him? I feel really bad. At the time I thought about the cars behind me and I really did not want to cross the road myself. Well, well... Hopefully he will be OK. Carson is usually the one who saves turtles but now I am a turtle rescuer too.
